I see my main role as a Personal Trainer to be able to deliver a unique, empathetic, motivating and results-driven service to help you achieve your goals. As a Mental Health and Exercise Coach, my main focus will be on creating a safe and comfortable environment for us to explore how you can transform your life through fitness.

During the programme, we will look at how making progress in the gym environment can positively impact all areas of your life, focusing on mindset as well as what exercises are best for you. Whatever you may have struggled with in the fitness world or in life in the past, we can address it together! I’m aiming to help you create lasting results, rather than a quick fix!

My role is very close to my heart, my own mental health was transformed by shifting my mindset and focusing on fitness, becoming a healthier and happier person as a result. Something I still battle with is managing my IBS with fitness, meaning that nutrition has been a big challenge for me personally. So if nutrition is also a struggle for you, I completely understand and that is something we can address together.

Before starting with James, I was anxious about the gym (particularly weight training and using certain machines). I needed a personal trainer who was kind, empathetic and understanding, which describes James perfectly.

James made me feel comfortable straight away and really listened to what I needed. He has helped me to believe in myself and my confidence has grown significantly. I have made good progress without ever feeling pressured. I can be honest with James about any concerns and he always listens without judgement and focuses on finding a solution.

I am now confident in the gym and really enjoy training. James' focus on mental health is something I have been able to apply to other aspects of my life and my general happiness and wellbeing has improved as a result.

You can tell James genuinely cares about all his clients and has a very personalised approach. I would happily recommend him to anybody looking for any kind of support in the gym.

I am an ex fitness professional but was feeling bored and unmotivated in the gym so I decided to book some sessions with James to help me refocus and try something different.
I have had four one hour sessions so far and it has been challenging but really enjoyable. James is very encouraging and it’s clear he has listened to what I said I wanted to achieve. I already feel stronger and an extra bonus is that I am starting to fit into clothes I thought I’d never be able to wear again!
I’m used to being in a gym but it’s amazing how much more effective a workout is when you’ve got someone “persuading” you to do more than you thought you were capable of. I’d definitely recommend James if you want to up your game!
