Hi my name is Emma and I’m a Personal Trainer and Fitness Class Instructor. Since a young age I’ve always had a passion for keeping active from taking ballet lessons up to intermediate level grades to gravel cycling and mountain biking. Working as a Fitness Instructor has highlighted many barriers that we face in the gym, and together we will conquer them! I am inspired to support and guide you to reach your fitness goals and build your confidence so that you can be the best possible version of you!
For me, the mental health benefits of doing exercise and the sense of enjoyment and fulfilment is an important motivation for working in Fitness. Pushing yourself to the limit feels empowering and I intend to support you with reaching your full potential! From the very first step, I will provide you with specialised training programs and monitor your progress to make each step of your goal achievable and feel confident with your achievements.

I have been training with Emma since the start of the year and can’t believe how much progress I have made. I was recovering from a lower back injury when I first started and Emma was always very mindful of this, while at the same time pushing me to progress. My lower back is now fully recovered and I feel stronger than I ever have.
Emma has introduced me to different equipment that has kept me interested and is very good at ensuring that my technique is correct. She is very easy to get along with and encourages me to push myself during my sessions. I’d highly recommend Emma to anyone who wants to increase stamina and strength in the gym.

In my younger days I used the gym frequently and felt I knew what I was doing coming back to it. I had purchased an online fitness program with video instruction and dieting recommendations and thought I had it covered but despite coming 3/4 times a week I did not seem to be making progress.
I decided to try one on one coaching with Emma. I started doing two sessions a week, which quickly increased to 4 times a week. I have been working with Emma since January this year and the results are just astonishing. And frankly the techniques that I was practicing before Emma corrected my posture would probably have led to serious injury. So from that perspective alone working with Emma has been so worth it for me. Yet Emma took time to understand my fitness goals aiming to compete in a 10k swim later this month. Emma has steadily built up my shoulder strength, my core strength and my leg muscles. Last month I managed a 200kg leg press and a 60kg squat. When I started I had an injury to my right leg and lacked flexibility in my shoulders so I could not lift a fraction of these weights. With consistent practice corrected form, endless encouragement, deep knowledge and a creative approach to adapting exercises to deal with weaknesses, I am now stronger and fitter than I ever imagined I would be. I always did quite a lot of aerobic activity but it is the gym program that Emma designed and keeps redesigning that has made such a difference to my fitness.
So to put it in context I swam 7k at Ellerton Lake this weekend in just under 3 hours - which for a 67 year old is not bad at all believe me !
I hope sharing my journey will help you understand how Emma could help you to attain your goals or just improve your fitness enough to help you make the most of life. The training has also helped increase my confidence and the enjoyment of my road cycling and hiking around the UK Scotland and Wales. Emma is brilliant. Very knowledgeable, obviously experienced and super encouraging. I would certainly recommend anyone to book sessions with her. A very significant and measurable increase in leg strength has been achieved during this time. I will be surfing again soon!
I booked 2 sessions per week for month as a package. Cost was great value - it’s worth investing in your own health - can't put a price on that!
Emma paid close attention to the requirements of my specific injury recovery and to my goals in the creation of a tailor made plan. During sessions she constantly observed my form and performance, always providing feedback to guide me to training effectively and prevent incurring strains or fresh injury (I needed quite a lot of correction and instruction, so I expect I would have caused myself mischiefs if I’d used the equipment without Emma’s guidance).
I am a complete newbie to most of the gym equipment (the gym environment can be quite strange and daunting to a beginner). During the 1-to-1 sessions Emma enabled me to learn the correct use of a lot of the machines. So this is something valuable that I can take away from my sessions while continuing my recovery. I expect I will book more sessions with Emma once I’ve built up the quad muscles further using the techniques she has taught me.

First time having a PT session with Emma today. Being an experienced weightlifter I want to try and focus more on improving my cardio after almost a year off.

I have recently started my personal training plan with Emma. I am thoroughly enjoying every session, I already feel stronger, fitter and look forward to the weekly sessions.
Emma makes the sessions fun, interactive and is also really good at breaking down the exercises and showing me best practice
in a clear way. This really helps to enable me to be able to go away and practice the exercises on my own as well in the gym.

Emma is extremely knowledgeable and works with you to understand your health, current fitness level and your goals in order to develop a training program that is tailor made for you.
