About
Growing up I always played sports, eventually playing both netball and tennis at county level. This is where my passion for sport, exercise & health started and what led me to study sport & exercise science at university (BSc & MSc), where I also completed my PT qualification. Realising many people have health conditions or disease risk factors, I then completed an MSc in clinical exercise science, which focussed on chronic health conditions and allowed me to work within an exercise referral clinic and complete my exercise referral qualification. Studying both degrees meant that I was now covering both performance & health bases, meaning that I could help a wider range of people – this being my goal now as a PT.
Throughout these qualifications I covered a range of topics, including, biomechanics, physiology, pathophysiology, psychology, public health, nutrition, behaviour change, strength & conditioning, and injury prevention. These things come hand-in-hand no matter your goals; and if you don’t yet understand them, don’t worry, that’s where I come in. ‘Knowledge is power’, and when we’re working together, I won’t just train you, I’ll also help you to understand these things so that you feel confident & empowered to continue your journey.
Examples of people I have worked with include people in their early 20s to improve their sports performance, someone training to pass their army fitness test, and an 80-year-old looking to improve their mobility to go about their days easier – no matter your goals, we can work together to achieve them.
If you have any questions, want to know more, or would like to get started, please get in touch. All initial consultations are free.
