About
Previously as a scientist and educator I discovered my delight in helping people, from every background, to achieve personal self-improvement. Nothing is more satisfying for me than guiding people to learn and overcome challenges of every kind, and it is with great excitement that I have embraced a career in health and wellbeing.
I am an LGBTQI+ ally and have experience of working with neurodiverse people; I strive to make the gym a welcoming, comfortable and safe environment for all. Whatever your health, fitness and wellbeing goals I am here to guide you, whether you are performance driven, seeking to increase body confidence, or simply overwhelmed by life and need someone to organise and plan your exercise. I would challenge, motivate and encourage you every step of the way, empowering you to be the best version of yourself.
Exercise and competitive sport has been a key part of my life for three decades including rowing, indoor rowing, powerlifting, strongman, cycling, swimming, running and martial arts. Recently, my knowledge and experience of exercise and nutrition has helped me to effectively manage my own chronic health conditions.
I possess a range of experience, having run weights sessions for CUWBC, written bespoke rowing and powerlifting plans for competitive athletes, designed general fitness plans for weight loss and body recomposition, and have provided nutritional advice and guidance.
WHAT DO I OFFER?
- Fun, relaxed training sessions;
- Bespoke programming to suit you;
- Nutritional guidance;
- Motivation at every step;
- The knowledge to take ownership of your health and fitness!

I've been working with Adam for two months now. He has been really helpful for me, understanding my needs as a competitive swimmer and creating a unique training program for me.
Adam explained his program really clearly and what the benefit of each exercise was. He was very motivating and enjoyable to work with. Overall, Adam is a very knowledgeable and friendly coach and I would recommend him to anyone looking to improve their training.

I decided to try a Personal Trainer pretty much as a spur of the moment thing and had no idea what I would be getting.
Well I was lucky in that I contacted Adam and was impressed with his immediate response and the questions he made me ask myself about what I wanted to get from the process. I came for a no obligation meet up and found Adam’s advice and suggested approach to make sense and I signed up for an initial 6 weeks.
I’m now 6 weeks in, enjoying for the first time ever going to the gym and feeling the effects and benefits of Adam’s advice and guidance. He has certainly motivated me to carry on with weight and gym work and I’ve signed up for another round of sessions.
If you are looking for a PT who will push you, encourage you and explain why it makes sense to follow his training plan but critically to really enjoy it, then contact Adam.

Adam comes highly recommended. I'm seeing great results and confidence in only 4 months of weight lifting with him as a complete beginner. He takes a highly personalised approach and is very approachable. As a trans person, it's great to know that he's also a queer ally so everyone can feel comfortable training with him :)

I began training with Adam a month ago, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the progress I've made and the way our sessions are structured. Each workout is enjoyable yet challenging enough to provide a sense of accomplishment, without leaving me sore for days afterward. He has somehow managed to keep me committed to regular training, and I can’t recommend him highly enough.

I recently started personal training and have the pleasure of working with Adam. From the very first session, it was clear that Adam is dedicated to creating a welcoming and supportive environment for all clients.
What stands out the most is Adam's ability to make training plans that are both effortless and highly effective. Each workout is tailored to my individual needs and goals, ensuring that I am always challenged but never overwhelmed. The results have been remarkable, and I find myself improving with each session.
Adam is incredibly encouraging and motivating. No matter how tough the workout gets, his positive attitude and constant support make all the difference. He genuinely cares about my progress and is always there to offer words of encouragement when I need them most.
Additionally, Adam is very accommodating. He has been flexible with my schedule and even provided home workout plans when I couldn't make it to the gym. This level of dedication and adaptability is rare and greatly appreciated.
Overall, I cannot recommend Adam enough. If you're looking for a personal trainer who is friendly, accommodating, and committed to helping you reach your fitness goals in an enjoyable and effective way, Adam is the perfect choice.

I cannot recommend Adam highly enough. My fitness had seriously fallen by the wayside the past few years and I was unable to get back on track due to issues with increased work and difficulty fitting exercise into my schedule, as well as not knowing where to start to begin to get back on track after so long.
Adam is highly professional, encouraging, and genuinely listens to your goals and limitations to create a tailored plan that works with your specific situation. I am also neurodivergent, and LGBTQ, and I felt very safe, validated and heard. Whenever I had questions or needed clarification, Adam was very accommodating and patient.
Adam is also excellent at devising plans for those with busy and variable schedules. My work schedule can be highly changeable, which has always been a huge challenge in sticking to any kind of fitness plan. As a busy professional himself, Adam is very experienced in finding ways to accommodate these difficulties and make the most of whatever limited and variable time you may have.
I have tried PTs before and never found the process to be particularly helpful – and if that has been your experience too, I would again highly recommend Adam. He has been very encouraging and supportive, especially when I was having issues with my knees and ankle (I have some soft tissue injuries from years ago) and felt discouraged that I could not manage some of the exercises. He was incredibly helpful in devising an alternative set of exercises that did not involve putting weight on the joints that had flared up, and I felt much more confident and motivated knowing that I could still stay on track even when facing additional limitations.
Adam has also provided excellent advice and guidance on improving my diet in a way that is manageable, and fits within my lifestyle, preferences and budget – making it very achievable.
I have only been working with Adam for about a month, and I already feel a lot better – not just in myself but in my confidence that I can achieve my goals sustainably and get back to the level of fitness I want to be again.
