If you’ve been thinking of taking your passion for fitness and turning it into a career by becoming a personal trainer, then the Level 3 Personal Trainer course is an essential step in making that happen.
It’s the qualification you need to have to be able to set yourself up as a PT and start working with clients in the UK, covering everything from business skills to nutrition. So let’s take a look at what the Level 3 Personal Trainer course is all about, how long it takes to complete, and the different ways you can take it with YOUR Personal Training.
What Is the Level 3 Personal Trainer Course?
The Level 3 Personal Trainer course gives you the qualification you need to start working with clients as a personal trainer in gyms across the UK and internationally. So if you’re serious about building a career in the fitness field, this is the course you need to take.
It builds on the foundational knowledge from the Level 2 Gym Instructor qualification, so you need to have that one under your belt first.
The Level 3 Personal Trainer course is broken down into these 6 units, designed to give you all the knowledge and skills you need to work as a PT:
- Unit 1: Applied anatomy and physiology for exercise, health, and fitness
- Unit 2: The principles of nutrition and their application to exercise and health
- Unit 3: Lifestyle, health, wellbeing, and common medical conditions
- Unit 4: Encouraging positive health and fitness behaviours in clients
- Unit 5: Programme design and delivery for personal training
- Unit 6: Professionalism and business acumen for personal trainers
Taking the Course with YOUR Personal Training
There are a few different ways you can take the Level 3 Personal Trainer course with YOUR Academy from YOUR Personal Training, all of which have something slightly different to offer so there’s an option for everyone.
Level 3 Personal Trainer Course
If you already have your Level 2 Gym Instructor qualification, then you can take the course as a stand-alone option. This option costs £1075 when you pay in full, or you can opt for monthly payments starting from £87 with a £250 deposit.
You can take up to 12 months to complete the course, but if you have a good amount of time to dedicate to it, you can finish it in as little as 2 months. When you sign up, you’ll get access to YOUR Academy’s exclusive online learning portal where you can work through the materials at your own pace. You’ll also get regular catch-up calls with your tutor and advanced training methods workshops and practical assessments in a gym near you.
PT Essentials
If you haven’t already completed the Level 2 Gym Instructor course, then you can get that and the Level 3 Personal Trainer course together in the PT Essentials bundle. It’s basically your all-in-one direct pathway to becoming a personal trainer with no other qualifications needed.
The PT Essentials bundle costs £1795 if you pay in full, or you can go for a £250 deposit and then monthly payments starting from £105. You don’t need any previous experience or qualifications to get started with this course, but you need to have a real passion for fitness and desire to learn to get the best from it.
Part-Funded PT Course
The third option also combines the Level 2 Gym Instructor and Level 3 Personal Trainer qualification but offers some incredible bonuses.
This part-funded option will only cost you £500 and is the only UK training programme of its kind.
Like the PT Essentials course, it’ll give you the training, skills, and qualifications you need to get started as a personal trainer, but it’ll also help you actually launch your PT career when you’re done.
It’s only for people who are truly serious about taking their passion for fitness and making it into their career, with a guaranteed self-employed role with YOUR PT as long as you meet all the criteria along the way.
You need to commit to studying for 20 weeks, spending about 10 hours a week learning and developing your skills. And you’ll also need to be able to attend 7 full-day, face-to-face contact days at a YOUR Academy centre and be willing to work from a YOUR PT gym for 12 months after you get your qualification.
But in exchange, you get an incredible deal on the cost of the course and a huge amount of support from YOUR PT and YOUR Academy, including access to the advanced business course, mentor support, and comprehensive lead generation tools to help you build your business.
